here's how I help
Your fitness journey deserves a guide who truly understands what it’s like to be a midlife woman.
Women in their perimenopause and postmenopausal stages have unique exercise requirements that differ from other demographics. I’ve discovered that lasting change isn’t just about perfect form or counting reps- it’s about building sustainable habits that become second nature. My approach combines evidence-based training with genuine care tailored to your individual story.

Fitness should enhance your life, not overwhelm it. That’s why I’ve developed a holistic methodology that goes beyond traditional personal training.
Every programme I create balances three essential elements: movement for life, strength building and recovery - because your body deserves comprehensive care. Combined with gentle accountability and weekly check-ins we navigate obstacles together. My clients don't just get stronger - they develop unshakeable confidence in their ability to maintain healthy habits.

What sets Ami Baker PT apart? I don’t just train bodies - I transform lifestyles.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning after injury, I meet you exactly where you are. My sessions adapt to your unique needs, schedule and goals - from online convenience to outdoor adventures. Together, we’ll build habits that empower you to move confidently, feel stronger and celebrate your body every step of the way.
what my clients love

Training with Ami has been such a game changer! She’s incredibly motivating and somehow makes every workout fun, even on the tough days. Her deep knowledge and clear explanations make it easy to understand the purpose and benefits of each exercise, especially for women 40+.

I have always been keen on exercise and have a small home gym, but I wasn't really seeing many changes. Ami got me lifting weights in a way that made sense and within 8 weeks I was looking and feeling very different.
pam, 66
I was feeling very unmotivated to exercise having had a frozen shoulder for some years. I know I was getting more frail and sedentary. Ami got me exercising again and it was such fun! I will keep stamping those ant to the Rolling Stones.
my story
My fitness journey didn’t start in a gym or on a treadmill - it started in the quiet moments of sleepless nights, feeling disconnected and frustrated with my changing body. Like many midlife women, I experienced the challenges of perimenopause and post menopause first hand: fluctuating energy levels, unexpected aches, and workouts that no longer felt empowering. I realised the fitness advice I’d followed for years my old routines no longer applied to this new chapter in my life.

Instead of accepting this as inevitable decline, I chose to learn more. I dived deep into understanding how midlife changes affect the body and how fitness can be adapted to work with those changes, not against them. I earned specialised certifications focused on strength training and functional movement for adults over forty.. I discovered that lasting transformation isn’t about punishing workouts or rigid diets—it’s about sustainable habits that fit your life and honour and respect your starting point.
